One payment covers every update, so this is the whole list, newest first. Gumroad emails buyers when a new version is out. The app itself never checks in with anything, which is the same reason it has no updater. The source carries the same history with the engineering detail left in.

Sixteen languages instead of eight. Dutch, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Korean, Vietnamese and Ukrainian join the eight that were already there. The model could always hear them. The menu was the thing that stopped at eight, so this is not a new download for anyone already on the default.

  • Nothing to fetch. The eight new languages live in the same pack auto-detect already downloads, so switching to one of them is instant rather than another 600 MB.
  • Naming the language beats detecting it. Auto-detect already understood these; picking the language outright is the more accurate setting when everything you play is in one language.

A settings window that previews itself. Half of what the sliders govern describes something not currently on screen: boxes that have already finished, the hole that follows the pointer. So the pane got a small overlay of its own to demonstrate on. Touch a control and the preview says what that control does, with your current value in the sentence.

  • Windows that fit. Settings and the welcome screen scroll on a short display instead of running off the bottom of it, where there is no title bar to drag them back by.
  • The overlay follows a resolution change rather than waiting for the next word to notice one.

The welcome screen's demo caught up with the one on this site, and its caption history stopped fighting the scroll. The block that explains the pointer and the two modifiers reads in the order you meet them.

The welcome screen now says what ⇧ and ⌥ do and what the pointer does, one line each, with the right key lighting up for each one.

The ⌥ stack forgets. It had been answering with whatever was last said, however long ago that was: press it after lunch and you got the morning's meeting. It now clears after 30 seconds with nothing new, which is adjustable and can be turned off. It will not clear while you are holding ⌥ and reading it.

Hold ⌥ to bring the last few boxes back. The overlay pages like broadcast subtitles. It fills, clears and starts again, so a sentence you glanced away from was simply gone. The closed pages now stack above the live box, and scroll when there are more of them than there is room for.

  • A settings window behind ⌘,: lines per box, opacity, how long the history lives, and how far ⌥ reaches back.

The caption box gets out of the way of the pointer. Point at it and it dissolves around the cursor, so whatever it covers can be read without moving anything. Hold ⇧ and it goes solid again, which is also when it becomes draggable.

A welcome screen for the first run. First launch fetches about 600 MB before a single caption can appear, and until now the whole first impression was a menu bar icon with a dot on it. There is also an About window saying what version you have and where it came from.

A dashed ring appears while ⇧ makes the overlay draggable, so it is visible that the box is catching clicks instead of passing them through.
